The sole spiritual head of the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star (BCS), His holiness, leader Olumba Olumba Obu, has advised Nigeria’s political leaders to stop the destruction of lives and property in different parts of the country.
Obu warned against evil tendencies, religious intolerance, hatred and other vices like hate speech that are fueling crises so as not to bring the nation to its knees.
He gave the warning at the 5th Leader Olumba Olumba Obu 2023 Public Lecture in Càlabar yesterday through various speakers.
The cleric who spoke on the theme, “Impacts of God’s Manifestations on Human Civilizations” recommended interfaith dialogue by religious leaders so that all the leaders can understand the differences and similarities in belief systems.
Those who spoke on his behalf included Prof. Paul Kolade Tubi, lecturer at the Federal University Lokoja, Kogi State and Dr. Amah Williams, who is also lecturer at Akwa Ibom State University as well as Dr Osunwunsi Oluwagbemiga Adekola who called for development of mutual relationship across all levels in the country.
Obu stated that with mutual relationship and peace can reign in the land and the killings must stop.
“Brotherhood of the Cross and Stars (BCS) and traditionalists should set good examples in terms of promotion of order, science of nature and art of proper living,” he said.
Obu solicited for unity, love and care for one another so that religious intolerance and destruction of lives and property can be put to rest.
He warned that if Nigerian leaders do not do something urgently to halt the killing of the country’s nationals, the country would be doomed.
