Omuo-Ore Comprehensive High School Win 2024 Agbayewa Cup Football Tourney

The 2024 Agbayewa Cup Football Tournament came to a thrilling climax last Tuesday with Omuo-Ore Comprehensive High School, Omuo Ekiti, emerging champions following a 1-0 victory over Government College, Ado Ekiti, in the final.

The highly contested match held at Oluyemi Kayode Stadium, Ado Ekiti, saw the winners claiming a cash prize of N1,100,000, gold medals and a giant trophy in recognition of their outstanding performance.
First runners-up, Government College, Ado Ekiti, went home with N500, 000 and silver medals, while second runners-up, Ifaki Grammar School received bronze medals and a cash prize ofN25, 000.

Speaking shortly after the final match, the community communication manager, Cavista Holdings, Alhaji Dauda Lawal, said the championship was organized to support Ekiti State in sports development and the discovery of raw talents.

He explained that the competition remains a viable platform to unearth new football talents and create pathways for local and international recognition.

“This spectacular occasion showcased exceptional talents, sportsmanship, and teamwork among Ekiti State future stars who are still building their future through education combined with Sports,” Lawal said.
