Ahead of the November 16, 2024 gubernatorial election in Ondo State, the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Campaign Council has announced plans to engage with key groups in the state through a unique interactive session.
The event, scheduled for Thursday, November 14, 2024, will occur at the International Conference Center, The Dome, in Akure, Ondo State, starting at 10:00 AM.
It will be led by the Chairman of the APC National Campaign Council Special Engagement Sub-Committee, Governor Dikko Umar Radda of Katsina State, and Co-Chairman Governor Rev Father Hyacinth Alia of Benue State.
The session aims to mobilise support for the APC’s gubernatorial candidate, Hon. Lucky Orimasan Aiyedatiwa, and his running mate, Hon. Olaide Adelami.
The National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN), market women, traditional rulers, religious leaders, and civil society organisations are expected to attend.
Other participants will include non-indigenes, the Oodua People’s Congress, hunters, vigilantes, and people living with disabilities (PWD), among others.
In a statement issued over the weekend, Hon. Femi Adekanbi, Secretary of the Committee, emphasised the importance of engaging strategic groups in the state to ensure voter mobilisation and support for the APC ticket.
The interactive session is part of the APC‘s broader strategy to consolidate its grassroots presence and enhance its chances in the highly competitive election.
