Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) yesterday arrested a man suspected of vote-buying in the Ondo State governorship election.
The arrest occurred at Ward 4, Polling Unit 007, near St. Stephen’s Primary School in Akure, the state capital.
A video footage captured the moment DSS personnel, alongside bystanders, ordered the suspect to open the booth of his Toyota Camry car. Upon opening the vehicle, two large ‘Ghana-must-go’ bags were discovered. The bags reportedly contained large sums of cash intended to sway voters.
The DSS operatives quickly apprehended him and escorted him into a bus and left the scene.
