As part of events to commemorate the 2025 World Oral Health Day, Oyo State government and Aspira Nigeria Limited have reiterated their commitment to improving oral healthcare by providing free dental check-ups and treatment.

The Oyo State commissioner for health, Dr Oluwaserimi Ajetunmobi, represented by the chairman of the Hospitals Management Board, Dr Akin Fagbemi, described oral health as a crucial aspect of overall well-being.

He warned that neglecting dental care could lead to severe complications, including cardiovascular diseases and diabetes.

He further reiterated the state government’s commitment to strengthening the healthcare system, including ongoing improvements in dental facilities across the state.

The executive secretary of the Oyo State Health Insurance Agency, Dr Olusola Akande, emphasised the role of health insurance in making dental care more affordable and accessible.

He encouraged residents to enroll in the state’s health insurance scheme to ensure continuous access to quality healthcare services.

A representative of Aspira Nigeria Limited, Mr Adegboyega Joseph, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting oral health awareness campaigns in Oyo State.
