Nigeria international Gift Orban is just three goals away from turning his loan spell at Turkish Süper Lig newcomers Amedspor into a permanent transfer.
Amedspor president Nahit Eren confirmed that Orban’s loan agreement from Bundesliga club Hoffenheim contains a mandatory purchase clause that will be activated once the striker reaches 10 league goals.
“We loaned Gift Orban for €500,000, not €1 million. If he scores 10 goals, the mandatory purchase option will be activated,” Eren told GZT.
Orban, who joined Besnik Hasi’s side in July, has made an explosive start to life in Turkey, scoring seven goals and providing two assists in six league appearances.
The 24-year-old is currently joint-top scorer in the Süper Lig, level with Trabzonspor forward Mohamed Salah, following his impressive start to the campaign.
His latest contribution came in Amedspor’s 3-2 victory over Beşiktaş, where Orban scored and provided an assist to help the newly promoted club move to the top of the table.
With seven goals already to his name, Orban needs just three more to trigger the mandatory purchase clause and secure a permanent move to Amedspor.
The Nigeria forward will now look to maintain his scoring form as he closes in on the 10-goal mark that could determine his long-term future at the Turkish club.
