The 2026 African Union Sports Council (AUSC) Region 2 Games are set to feature five core sports, organisers have announced.
The prestigious event, scheduled to take place in Banjul from June 7th to 13th, 2026, will showcase Athletics, 3×3 Basketball, Beach Volleyball, Boxing, and an exhibition of African Traditional Games.
The Gambian government, through its Ministry of Youth and Sports, has officially signed the Host Agreement with the AUSC Region 2, solidifying the nation’s commitment to hosting the multi-sport spectacle. The Games aim to unite young athletes from member states, fostering youth development, sporting excellence, and regional unity.
Further bolstering the event, ASKY Airlines has partnered to provide crucial travel and logistical support for athletes, officials, and stakeholders. This collaboration is expected to enhance cooperation between the sports and aviation sectors across Africa, ensuring seamless travel for all participating delegations.
