As the president and founder of Women of Dignity International (WODI), a respected nonprofit organization in Canada, Mercy Itohan Osayi has dedicated her life to uplifting women and youth in communities within Canada, and her efforts have not gone unnoticed.

Mercy’s journey began at Auchi Polytechnic, Auchi, Edo state, Nigeria, where she obtained a diploma in Mass Communication. She then went on to pursue a Bachelor’s degree at Delta State University and a master’s degree from the University of Lagos. With a strong educational background, Mercy has excelled in various professional fields, including public relations, customer protection, and counseling.

In addition to her professional achievements, Mercy actively participates in community service and holds positions on the boards of notable organizations and foundations in Canada. Her leadership and commitment to creating positive change have been instrumental in fostering collaboration among community stakeholders.

Through her invaluable work at WODI, Mercy has initiated numerous programmes aimed at empowering women and youth. By establishing strategic partnerships and fostering collaborative efforts, WODI provides essential training and support to individuals, equipping them with the necessary tools for personal and professional growth.

Mercy’s unwavering dedication to empowering women and youth exemplifies the transformative power of compassion and commitment. Through her leadership at WODI and her active involvement in the community, she continues to pave the way for a brighter future for generations to come.

Her next move is to host a prestigious award event to honor outstanding individuals who have made a significant impact in their respective fields. According to her, “I will be organizing the upcoming Outstanding Dignified Personalities Award, which will be held on February 24th in Kitchener, Ontario.”

Mercy is passionate about acknowledging and celebrating5 individuals who embody dignity, resilience, and compassion. According to her, organising this award is a deeply personal endeavor rooted in her unwavering belief in the power of recognising and honoring those who inspire positive change in our communities.

The Outstanding Dignified Personalities Award serves as a platform to showcase and highlight the remarkable achievements and contributions of often overlooked individuals. Sharing their stories and accomplishments aims to inspire others and foster a culture of excellence and empowerment.

Mercy is wholeheartedly committed to curating an event that not only celebrates these exceptional leaders but also encourages others to strive for greatness and make a meaningful difference in the world.

Recognising her exceptional contributions, Mercy was recently honored with the prestigious Community Impact award at the Canada Vendors Entrepreneur Awards in 2023. She has won several awards which include, Smart Smile Matters Award, Community Service Award and Service Appreciation Award, among others.

 

Education And Career

Mercy Itohan Osayi is the president and founder of Women of Dignity International (WODI) a non-profit organization registered in Canada. WODI is passionate about empowering Women and Youth in Canada and its environs.

Mercy is a mother and career personality with a mission for developing women and building better personalities has a wide study in Mass Communication, having her diploma from the Auchi Polytechnic; a bachelor’s at Delta State University and a Master’s degree from the University of Lagos.

She holds the Canadian Retail and Customer Service certification, Canadian Workplace Essentials, Customer Service Excellence Certificate, START Customer Care Programme Certificate and a Diploma in Social Works. Currently studying Human Resource Management.

She worked at LAPO Microfinance Bank as Client Protection and Support manager and at BMO as a customer service representative. She has a public relations experience at The Quadrant Public Relations as a trainee Executive.

 

Her working experience stands her out in public relations, customer protection and Counselling. Her volunteer works include Culture Link community services, Salvation Army, New Circles community services, Grace Place and Fruitful Communities all in Montreal and Toronto, Canada.

 

She founded Women of Dignity International in 2021 and the organisation has impacted women globally. A few of their programs include; WODI Impact, BOYZ to MEN, GIRLZ to LADIES, Buka Plus, WODI Foodbank, WODI Talkshow (Social issue to take women out of depression, domestic violence, Mental Health etcl), Women Empowerment, Integration and settlement, Family Support, WODI GLOBAL SKILLS INITIATIVE and many more. These have earned WODI several awards in Canada.

 

She is married to Prince Monday Onaiwu Osayi ,and blessed with lovely children: Idiakhosa, Eloghosa, Osarefe and Osaruese
