Galatasaray will be without their prominent Nigerian forward, Victor Osimhen, as they journey to face Konyaspor in a crucial Turkish league encounter this Saturday.
The Turkish champions are back in domestic action following an emphatic 5-2 victory in the UEFA Champions League play-off first leg at Rams Park in Istanbul, a result that has buoyed spirits within the club.
However, head coach Okan Buruk will unfortunately be unable to call upon Osimhen for the upcoming fixture against Konyaspor. The prolific Nigerian striker has been ruled out as a precautionary measure after reporting discomfort in his right knee.
“Victor Osimhen, who is complaining of pain in his right knee, has been withheld from the squad for the match against Konyaspor as a precaution,” the club confirmed in an official statement.
This indicates a cautious approach from the medical staff and coaching team, prioritising the player’s long-term fitness. Despite this setback, initial reports suggest that the injury is not considered to be serious, offering some relief to Galatasaray supporters.
