Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has reportedly encouraged compatriot Ademola Lookman to consider a move to Turkish champions Galatasaray ahead of the 2026/27 season.

Lookman only joined Spanish giants Atlético Madrid from Italian side Atalanta during the winter transfer window, ending months of speculation over his future after attracting interest from several top European clubs.

The Nigerian international has adapted impressively to life in La Liga, scoring nine goals and providing four assists in 24 appearances across all competitions since arriving at the Wanda Metropolitano.

Despite his strong start in Spain, reports linking him with a move away from Atlético have continued to emerge, with Galatasaray among the clubs reportedly monitoring his situation.

A potential move to Istanbul would see Lookman reunited with fellow Super Eagles star Osimhen, who has become one of Galatasaray’s most influential players since arriving in Turkey.

According to Turkish publication Fotomaç, Osimhen has personally encouraged the reigning African Player of the Year to make the switch, highlighting the close-knit atmosphere within the Galatasaray dressing room.

Reports carried by Habersarikirmizi quoted Osimhen as saying:

“We are waiting for you at Galatasaray. Come and be a part of this family.”

While there has been no official confirmation from either player or club regarding a possible transfer, the speculation has generated excitement among Galatasaray supporters eager to see two of Nigeria’s biggest stars playing together at club level.

Lookman’s arrival would significantly strengthen the Turkish champions’ attacking options and provide additional creativity and goals from wide areas.

The 28-year-old could also emerge as a long-term replacement for Argentine striker Mauro Icardi, whose future at the club remains uncertain amid reports linking him with a summer departure.

For now, Lookman remains focused on his career in Spain, but with the transfer window approaching, rumours surrounding his future are unlikely to disappear anytime soon.
