Osun State government has announced the release of supplementary list to batch 1 of the ongoing teachers’ recruitment exercise in the state.
No fewer than 1,000 teachers in various categories including education officers were recruited in the first batch recruitment exercise made public few weeks ago.
The permanent secretary, Ministry of Education, M. A. K. Jimoh, while announcing the fresh recruitment in a release said the development now brings the total number of applicants being employed to a total of 1,241 as against the initial 1,000 mark to give room for more qualified unemployed youths to be absorbed into the teaching profession
The release read in part, “This is to inform the general public and education stakeholders in Osun State that His Excellency, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, has graciously approved the release of supplementary list to batch 1 of the ongoing teachers’ recruitment exercise in the state.
“This development now brings the total number of applicants being employed to a total of 1241 as against the initial 1000 mark to give room for more qualified unemployed youths to be absorbed into the teaching profession thereby improving learning outcomes in our primary and secondary schools across the state.”
According to him, the breakdown of this figure now stands at 660 for SUBEB, 526 for TESCOM and 55 for Education Officers.
“The successful candidates are advised to check their names on the lists accordingly and proceed to commence necessary profiling and documentation in SUBEB, TESCOM and Civil Service Commission as the case may be.”
While congratulating the successful candidates, Jimoh charged them to contribute their quota towards the improvement of the education sector in their new engagement as teachers adding that they should also display professionalism in teaching for better performance and outcomes.
