Osun United have embarked on a major restructuring exercise after their relegation from the Nigeria National League (NNL), dismissing their entire technical crew and releasing 15 players.

The sweeping changes were announced in an official statement issued by the club following the conclusion of the 2025/26 campaign.

According to the club, the decision affects the entire technical team led by head coach Akinade Onigbinde, with the dissolution taking immediate effect.

The Omoluabi Giants endured a disappointing season that ultimately ended in relegation, prompting management to take drastic measures as they prepare for life in the Nationwide League One (NLO).

Club officials cited the team’s poor performances and failure to achieve expected results as the primary reason for the restructuring.

In addition to the coaching shake-up, 15 players have also been released due to what the club described as low productivity during the campaign.

The departures significantly reduce the size of Osun United’s squad ahead of preparations for next season, with management expected to begin a recruitment drive aimed at rebuilding the team.

The club’s hierarchy believes the changes are necessary to restore Osun United’s competitiveness and position them for an immediate return to the second tier of Nigerian football.

Supporters will now be eager to see who is appointed to lead the new technical team as the club begins a fresh chapter.

The management assured fans that efforts are already underway to strengthen the squad and establish a structure capable of delivering success in the NLO.
