Nigerian international, Viv Efosa Otabor-Solomon, has praised the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) for appointing Eric Chelle as the new head coach of the Super Eagles.
He commended Augustine Eguavoen for securing qualification for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Speaking to LEADERSHIP Sports, Otabor-Solomon described Chelle’s appointment as a “great choice” and expressed confidence that the French tactician will lead the team to success.
“I’m thrilled with the appointment of Eric Chelle as the new Super Eagles coach,” Otabor-Solomon said. “He’s a seasoned coach with a proven track record, and I believe he has the technical expertise to take our team to the next level.”
He also heaped praise on Eguavoen, who led the Super Eagles to qualification for the 2025 AFCON despite initial setbacks.
“Augustine Eguavoen deserves commendation for stabilizing the team and securing qualification for the 2025 AFCON,” Otabor-Solomon said. “It wasn’t an easy task, but he showed his experience and tactical acumen to get the job done.”
The Cangzhou Mighty Lions of China, winger, noted that Eguavoen’s achievement has eased the pressure on Chelle, allowing him to focus on building a strong team for the future.
“Eguavoen’s qualification achievement has given Chelle a solid foundation to build on,” Otabor-Solomon said.
