The Senior Special Assistant to the Abia State Governor on Due Process, Dr. Oluebube Chukwu, has extended his warm felicitations to the State’s workers as they celebrated the 2025 International Workers’ Day on May 1.
In a statement made available to journalists, Dr. Chukwu, while acknowledging their unwavering dedication and unrelenting toil, joined in celebrating their ‘triumphs’, ‘struggles’, and ‘unyielding spirit’.
Dr. Chukwu described this year’s theme: ‘Reclaiming the Civic Space in the Midst of Economic Hardship’, as apt, noting the relevance of the theme to the current situation many Nigerians find themselves and urged workers to remain hopeful and continue in struggle for a better and brighter future for the nation.
“Your labour is the backbone of progress, the foundation upon which societies rise, and the beacon that illuminates the path to innovation.
“May this Workers’ Day celebration be a testament to your enduring legacy, a celebration of your achievements, and a reminder of the profound impact you have on our lives,” he stated.
He expressed optimism that the efforts of Nigerian workers be recognised, their voices heard, and contributions to be cherished.
“May this special day rejuvenate your spirit, inspire continued excellence, and honour the incredible work you do,” Dr Chukwu added.
