All is now set for the Cross River State Governor Bassey Edet Otu to commission a 20-kilometre evacuation corridor constructed by Lafarge Africa Plc to link the cement plant at Mfamosing Akamkpa local government area to Odukpani Junction, Calabar.

The head of communications, Holcim Africa Plc, Ginika Frank-Durugbor, disclosed this in Calabar yesterday when he interacted with journalists in Calabar.

The project which began about a decade ago during the administration of former governor Liyel Imoke would help heavy duty trucks conveying products from the production plant to Odukpani Junction without passing through the state capital.

The head of community relations committee, Mr. Inyang Inyang, said once commissioned, the road would attract businesses to the 10  host communities in Akamkpa and Akpabuyo local government areas of the state.
