As preparations heighten for the 2025 Annual Convention of the Gospel Believers’ Mission (GBM), the General Overseer, Rev (Dr) Ezra Jakko, has called on national and spiritual leaders to embrace integrity, compassion, and service as guiding principles in leadership.
Rev Jakko who stated this while addressing journalists at a press conference in Abuja yesterday, announced that this year’s national convention will hold from 6th to 9th November 2025.
The event, according to him, will be jointly hosted under the theme “Times of His Visitation.”
Speaking, the cleric said, “It gives me immense joy to address this gathering as we officially announce the forthcoming convention of the Gospel Believers’ Mission.
“This year’s convention comes at a critical time in our national and spiritual journey. We believe that God, in His infinite mercy, is set to visit His people again in a mighty way.
“This is a call to divine renewal, a reminder that in every generation, God visits His people to redeem, restore, and empower them for His purpose.”
The Overseer disclosed that this year’s convention will take place simultaneously at the GBM Headquarters Church, Surulere, Lagos, and a fully activated Abuja Centre at the Jikwoyi Branch.
The 2025 Convention will feature a blend of spiritual, educational, and humanitarian activities aimed at blessing individuals and communities, he said.
According to him, under the Operation GBM Hand of Mercy, scheduled from 30th October to 1st November 2025, the church embarked on free medical outreaches, empowerment programmes for widows and orphans, and distribution of food and clothing to indigent families and internally displaced persons (IDPs).
“This initiative underscores our belief that ministry must touch both soul and body.”
Other activities will include a Pre-Convention Luncheon on 6th November, revival and worship services, teaching sessions, healing and prophetic ministrations, and youth empowerment workshops.
- Beyond preparations for the convention, Rev. Jakko used the occasion to challenge leaders across all sectors to govern with sincerity, humility, and empathy.“Leadership is not about dominance; it is about service..True leaders must be men and women who rule with compassion, who seek the welfare of their people, and who lead by example. Our nation needs leaders who will listen to God and act with integrity.”
He added that the church remains committed to promoting moral reawakening and community transformation through consistent teaching and outreach.
