The Olojudo of Ido-Ekiti, Ido/Osi local government area of the state, Oba Ayorinde Ilori Faboro, has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Ekiti State Council of Traditional Rulers.
Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji approved the appointment of Oba Ilori Faboro following the expiration of the tenure of the Onisan of Isan- Ekiti, Oba Gabriel Ayodele Adejuwon, who presided over the council for two years.
A statement by the Deputy Governor, Chief (Mrs) Monisade Afuye, in Ado Ekiti yesterday said the tenure of the new chairman of the council will run for a two- year period beginning from 1st August, 2023 to 1st August, 2025.
According to the statement, Oba Adejuwon, who succeeded Alawe of Ilawe Ekiti, Oba Ajibade Alabi, presided over the council between July 28, 2021 and July 28,2023.
The government appreciated the traditional rulers for the prayers, support and immeasurable contributions to the uplift of Ekiti in all spheres.
The statement said: “The government congratulates the council members on this feat and prays for a successful tenure for the new leadership.
“The government appreciates the traditional rulers for their solid support for the outgone Chairman, while also pleading that similar gestures should be extended to the new one”.
The government pledged unalloyed respect for the traditional rulers across the state regardless of classes to build an institution the citizens can all be proud of.
