The chairman of the 2024 Ilawe-Ekiti Unity Day celebration, Barr Femi Bankole, who stated this while addressing a press conference to highlight activities lined up for the celebration, said the community plans to launch an N500 million support and development fund for the equipping and take-off of the

Teaching Hospital annexe in the community to deliver quality healthcare services to the residents.
Bankole said the people of Ilawe-Ekiti, headquarters of Ekiti South West local government area of Ekiti state, have supported the government through communal efforts to develop the community.

According to him, the community has prosecuted several projects through communal efforts.

Bankole said, “We support the government with our self-help, which is the hallmark of Ilawe Ekiti. A good part of our development in this community has been through self-help, and it has continued to this day; the latest is this tertiary health facility. Some of the things we have done through this, including the palace, post office, and hospital structure, are through communal effort. So, it is just a continuity of what we have been doing.
