Oyedepo Blasts Killers, Sponsors: ‘You Can’t Slaughter My Family And Expect My Prayers’

The Founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, Bishop David Oyedepo, has strongly condemned the recent wave of killings across Nigeria, declaring that those behind the attacks and their sponsors should expect divine judgment rather than prayers.

Addressing worshippers during a church service following the July 27 attack in Kaduna that reportedly claimed at least 30 lives, including women and children, the cleric said he could not pray for those responsible after the bloodshed inflicted on innocent Nigerians.

“You can’t slaughter members of my family and want me to pray for you. I pray against you, against your household, against your generation, in the name of Jesus,” Oyedepo declared in a video from the service that circulated on social media on Monday.

The bishop described the attackers and those allegedly backing them as “destructive agents,” warning that their time of reckoning had come.

“Woe to all destructive agents in Nigeria. Whether in power or out of power, judgement has finally come,” he said.

Oyedepo further alleged that the perpetrators of the violence were receiving support from influential sponsors, insisting that the situation was no longer a secret.

“Everybody knows that these wicked people are being sponsored. Anyone who doesn’t know that, that’s a problem,” he stated.

He subsequently pronounced what he described as a curse on those allegedly financing the attacks.

“Every sponsor of killers in Nigeria, you come under a curse today,” the cleric declared.

The founder of the megachurch also questioned what he described as the Federal Government’s silence over the continued bloodshed, expressing disappointment that he had not heard any official condemnation of the latest attack.

“You mean they kill people every day and government is pretending not to know what to do?” he asked.

“I have not heard any statement from government quarters against the killings. I’m here to hear one, sir. Our human life is not of value anymore?”

Expressing concern over what he said were growing restrictions on public preaching, Oyedepo noted that although he had remained silent for a long time, he believed the time for divine intervention had arrived.

“When you see God keep quiet at the wickedness of the wicked, it’s because the bubble is about to burst,” he said.

The bishop added that his patience had reached its limit.

“I have long held my peace… but now I will rise, like a wounded lion, and I will devour at once,” he declared.

Reaffirming his message, Oyedepo warned that those responsible for the violence would not escape justice.

“As the Lord lives… this bubble will burst. Go and hide anywhere. The bubble will burst,” he said.
