The Oyo State Government has announced the approval by the State Executive Council of the sum of N9.97 billion for the immediate rehabilitation of schools across the State.
Commissioner for Information and Orientation in the state, Prince Dotun Oyelade in a statement, disclosed that the schools’ renovation project would include perimeter fencing, construction of toilet facilities, drilling of solar boreholes, installation of solar lights, and purchase of furniture.
The statement said the approval is targeted at providing a more conducive environment for students and teachers to foster educational development in Oyo State.
No fewer than fifty (50) contractors are involved in the educational intervention projects with the cost totalling ₦9,974,332.00.
In the same vein, the Council also approved the second phase upgrade of the Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport in Ibadan.
This, according to the Council followed the determination of Governor Seyi Makinde to comply with the stipulated standard of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) on the airport.
