Paris 2024 Olympic Games: Gumel Hails AFN For Qualification of 4 Relay Teams

President of the Nigerian Olympic Committee (NOC), Engr. Habu Gumel, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) in the Bahamas, which secured qualification for the four relay teams to represent Nigeria at the upcoming Paris Games.

The Games are scheduled to run from July 26 to August 11, 2024.

In a statement signed by the NOC Public Relations Officer, Tony Nezianya, Gumel said,

“This remarkable achievement is a testament to the dedication, hard work, and unwavering commitment of your federation, coaches, and the athletes themselves.

“The qualification of these four relay teams — the 4/X100 (Men & Women), 4X400 (Men), 4X400 (Mixed), and Men’s 4X400, are significant milestones that fill us with immense pride and joy. 

“The relay events hold a special place in the Olympic tradition, and your athletes’ ability to unite as a cohesive unit and excel in these disciplines is a true testament to the strength and depth of Nigerian athletics.
