PCRC Honours IGP, 10 Others For Outstanding Performances

The Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), under its national executive council commendation programme has honoured the inspector-general of police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun and 10 other senior officers in recognition of their dedication and exceptional service to internal security.

The programme, designed to celebrate the efforts of officers who have demonstrated protracted commitment to duty, highlighted the crucial role of the police in safeguarding lives and property.

Some of the officers who were honoured at the event include: AIG Johnson Oluwole Adenola, Zone 16 Headquarters, Yenagoa; AIG Ohizoba Ehiede, Directorate of Legal Service, Force Headquarters; CP Ahmed A. Lateef, PSO (I) to the Inspector-general Of Police, Force Headquarters, Abuja; CP Akin Fakorede, Commissioner of Police, IGP Monitoring Unit, Force Headquarters, Abuja; CP Uduak Otu Ita, Deputy Commandant, Police College Oji-River; DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command.

Others are ACP Magaji K. Mohammed, IGP Monitoring Unit, Force Headquarters, Abuja; ACP Ebun Dada, Principal Staff Officer (Policy and Strategy), Force Headquarters, Abuja; ACP Ganiyu Adebowale, Personal Assistant to the Inspector General of Police, Force Headquarters, Abuja and ACP Bukola Kuti, PSO (II) to the Inspector-general of Police, Force Headquarters, Abuja.

Speaking at the ceremony, PCRC national chairman, Alhaji Mogaji Ibraheem Olaniyan, stated that the 10 newly promoted officers, alongside the inspector-general of police, were selected for the honour to preserve their legacies of service to nation-building.

He reiterated the committee’s commitment to promoting the sacrifices of officers who continue to serve under challenging conditions.

He said, “What we lack in this country is appreciation. These men we are celebrating today chose a path where there is no freedom, no weekends, and no full time for family. They have dedicated their lives to service. While criminal elements may reject them, we want the world to know that we stand with them.

One of the awardees, AIG Ehiede expressed gratitude for the recognition, pledging continued dedication to advancing national security.

He also urged the PCRC leadership to uphold unity, teamwork, and selfless service in its activities.
