“We are with you, and we know you are a Nigerian per excellence and a statesman. We believe you will handle the crisis,” he affirmed.

In the course of the visit, the PDP governors donated 100 million Naira to support rehabilitation efforts in the affected areas of the state.

Governor Mohammed emphasized on the need for a united front, stating, “We urge the Nigerian government to look at this crisis not as sectarian or sectional because this crisis has been lingering on the plateau.”

Mohammed called for decentralized security and also advocated for state police.

“We need some decentralization of the security apparatus so that we can enhance good governance by having good state police,”

He highlighted the limitations of the current security structure in Nigeria and the importance of engaging local communities.

Responding, Governor Mutfwang expressed his gratitude to his colleagues for their visit and acknowledged the significance of the visit to his state during their challenging times.

Mutfwang underscored the national issue of insecurity and the imperative to rebuild trust within communities, emphasizing on the collective responsibility for achieving security.
