PDP Shuns Katsina LG Polls, 5 Parties To Participate

Only five political parties will contest the Katsina State local government elections on February 15, 2025, while the PDP and 85 other parties have opted out.

Katsina State Electoral Commission Chairman Lawal Faskari confirmed that the APC, Accord Party, Booth Party, AAC, and ADC are the only participants.

While briefing pressmen in Katsina on Tuesday, he assured them that all preparations, including training 20,000 ad-hoc staff and distributing election materials, were complete.

Faskari also reminded parties to end campaigns 24 hours before the election and praised security agencies for ensuring a peaceful process.
