The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has vowed, alongside the people of Zamfara State to resist any attempt by the All Progressives Congress (APC) to alter the outcome of the by-election in Kaura Namoda South Constituency of the state.

PDP national publicity secretary, Debo Ologunagba, stated this at a press conference yesterday in Abuja, alleging that the APC was using security agencies to intimidate voters and manipulate the results ahead of Thursday’s rerun in five polling units.

Ologunagba insisted that the constituency is a PDP stronghold and that evidence already collated pointed to a PDP victory before the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared the election inconclusive.

“The PDP and, of course, the people of Zamfara State will not, and for emphasis, will not accept any result that is at variance with the will of the people as already expressed in the votes. Enough is enough of APC’s shenanigans,” he declared.

He accused the ruling party of deploying battalions of armed forces, including the Army, Navy, Air Force, Mobile Police, and DSS, to just five polling units, describing the action as a “dangerous militarization of democracy.”

Ologunagba also warned that a serving minister from Zamfara State was allegedly involved in the plot, which he said threatened peace and stability in the state.

“Our intelligence shows that the APC intends to use security agencies to bully INEC officials and subvert the electoral process. Nigerians and the international community should hold the APC responsible if there’s any breakdown of law and order,” he added.
