New Ekiti State Command commissioner of police, Mr. Akinwale Kunle Adeniran, assumed office with the pledge to ensure that the state is  returned to the peace it is known for.

Akinwale also promised that the command under his leadership will adopt community based policing and technological based security to tackle the monster rearing its head in the state.

He spoke at the state’s command headquarters in Ado Ekiti during his maiden press conference to announce his assumption of office and his agenda for the state.

The police boss said, “In line with the vision and mission of the Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun,  which says and I quote, “To have a professionally competent service driven, people oriented and friendly police force that will support the agenda of the government for economic recovery and growth as well as social and political development of Nigeria, a police force that is well positioned to respond appropriately and adequately to the dynamics of crimes and criminalities in our contemporary society.

‘’This unique mission I have come to pursue and fulfill to the betterment of Ekiti  people, with the full support of the people of the state more especially the  dynamism and wisdom driven by our  governor to restore back the peace Ekiti is known for,” he said.

He said the present time in the history of Nigeria calls for sober reflection due to the fact that the country is facing serious security challenges which the federal government is tackling with vigour and all seriousness it deserves.
