They also applauded President Bola Tinubu over the reappointment of Dr. Chioma Nnena Ejikeme as executive secretary.

The pensioners say her reappointment is a confirmation of hard work, dedication and the numerous innovations to addressing the plight of retirees all over the country.

In a statement in Abuja signed by the national public relations officer, Comrade Felix Ajoku, they urged the PTAD executive secretary to consolidate on her past successes and ensure that all pension arrears are cleared.

“We believe that her appointment is a confirmation of hard work, dedication and the numerous innovations she had introduced to the PTAD.

“In last tenure, she ensured the payment of backlog of pension arrears under the civil service pension department arising from the output of the national verification of 2015-2017,” the Ajoku said.

He listed successes achieved by Dr Ejikeme as the full liquidation of pension liabilities of defunct organisations like the New Nigerian Newspapers, NICON Insurance, Nitel/Mtel, and Delta Steel Company among others.

A national leader of the pensioners, Comrade Danladi Mark Gogo, said the reappointment of Dr Ejikeme was the best thing that happened to pensioners under PTAD.

Gogo and many other pensioners said the reappointment rekindled the hopes of federal retirees as he urged all pensioners to support her.
