A renowned diplomat and philanthropist, Barrister Kashim Musa Tumsah, has donated N1.5 million and new laptops to three students of the Nigerian Tulip International Colleges (NTIC), Mamudo, Potiskum local government area of Yobe State.

The donation was announced yesterday at NTIC, where Tumsah was represented by Kaka Ahmad Abubakar, a retired educationist and former principal of Government Girls College in Yobe.

Her long service in the education sector and passion for guiding young people gave her presence at the event special weight. Rifkatu Usman, a retired director with the Ministry of Women Affairs, Yobe State, and Hajiya Fatima, a former deputy controller with the Nigeria Immigration Service, accompanied her.

According to Abubakar, the gesture reflects Barrister Tumsah’s longstanding commitment to supporting young people in education, innovation, and global competitiveness.

“Barrister Tumsah made this donation not only to celebrate the students’ outstanding success on the world stage but also to encourage them and others to aim higher,” Abubakar said. “He believes that with the right encouragement, Nigerian students can stand shoulder to shoulder with their counterparts anywhere in the world.”

The principal of NTIC Mamudo, Mr Habibullah Jogi, commended Tumsah for the intervention, describing it as a morale booster for the school community and a reflection of his passion for human capital development.

“We are very grateful to Barrister Tumsah for remembering these students at this critical moment,” Jogi said. “Such gestures reinforce the importance of hard work, commitment, and academic excellence. They also show the students that society recognizes and appreciates their achievements.”

The donation’s beneficiaries, 17-year-old Nafisa Abdullahi Aminu, 15-year-old Rukayya Muhammad Fema, and Hadiza Kashim Kalli, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the philanthropist.

Speaking on behalf of the group, Nafisa said the recognition had further inspired them to continue working hard in their academic pursuits.
