The director-general of Gombe Geographic Information Systems (GOGIS), Dr Kabiru Usman Hassan, has supported over 500 beneficiaries with cash, food items and other financial assistance valued at N35 million in Gombe State.

At the empowerment programme, 200 beneficiaries received cash grants from N50,000 to N150,000 to boost their small businesses and improve their livelihoods. Additionally, 265 beneficiaries were provided with food items including rice, spaghetti, and grains to cushion the effects of economic hardship.

In further demonstration of compassion and commitment to grassroots support, 20 individuals were assisted with house rent payments, while another 15 beneficiaries received support for tuition fees to enable them continue their education without interruption.

The event was graced by the Gombe State APC Chairman, who was represented by the State Publicity Secretary, Amb. Moses Kyari. Also in attendance were party executives from Bolari West and Bolari East, APC members, youth and women groups, as well as the beneficiaries.

The beneficiaries comprised party ward executives, social media influencers, community members, youths, and women drawn from different parts of the state.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Kabiru Usman Hassan noted that the initiative was not the first of its kind and assured that more empowerment programmes would follow, with the aim of reaching as many people as possible. He emphasized that the gesture aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the exemplary leadership of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya in Gombe State.

He also highlighted the importance of ongoing infrastructural projects in Gombe as drivers of economic growth, as well as the strong Federal Government support to the state including the N120 billion granted for the development of the Livestock Industrial Zone along Bajoga Road.
