All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gombe State has concluded its local government congress in Gombe local government area, with party leaders describing the process as peaceful and aligned with national guidelines.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya, who addressed party faithful after the exercise in Gombe council, said the congress marked the completion of a structured internal process that began at the ward level and culminated at the local government stage.
The governor pointed to the large turnout of party members on Saturday as evidence of unity and grassroots acceptance.
Governor Yahaya stressed that the emergence of party officials through consensus reflected what he described as the core values of the APC in Gombe State — fairness, equity and justice.
“You see the crowd that turned out to see what we are doing and what we have done. We have done it with fairness, equity and justice. And that is what APC stands for,” he said.
The governor also used the occasion to reaffirm the state chapter’s loyalty to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, pledging that Gombe would align with the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda and work toward delivering electoral victories for the party in 2027.
“Inshallah, come 2027 we shall deliver APC from bottom to the top and from the top to the bottom,” he said confidently.
Chairman of the APC National Committee overseeing the congress in Gombe State, Danjuma Dabo, affirmed that the process complied strictly with party guidelines.
He said committee members were deployed across various local governments to monitor proceedings and had reported back positively.
Following the congress, 27 officials were affirmed to steer the affairs of the party in Gombe Local Government Area.
Alhaji Idris Saleh emerged as Chairman, with Sani Ya’u Kukkulu as Vice Chairman and Baban Inna as Secretary. Other key officers include Auwal Jajaye (Assistant Secretary), Malam Abubakar Y. Bolari (Legal Adviser), Yusuf Bala Ali (Treasurer), and El-Bash Ibrahim (Organising Secretary).
The executive also features Baban Gambo as Publicity Secretary, Yelwaji Hassan as Women Leader, Yahaya Abdussalam as Youth Leader, and Rakiya Hassan as Physically Challenged Leader, alongside other assistant officers and ex-officio members.
