Voting activities progressed peacefully at Polling Unit 021, Durumi 1, in Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) in the FCT Area Council elections, with electoral officials and community leaders confirming a smooth and orderly process on Saturday.
Presiding Officer, Nkechi Chime, disclosed that the polling unit has 700 registered voters, noting that the exercise commenced without any operational or security challenges.
According to her, the process has been free and well-coordinated, with voters turning out enthusiastically to participate in the election.
Residents at the polling unit expressed excitement about casting their votes, describing the atmosphere as calm and encouraging.
The Village Head, Yohanna Ishaku, also reaffirmed the community’s readiness to fully participate in the electoral process, stating that residents were committed to voting peacefully while maintaining order and composure across the district.
Observers at the polling unit reported steady voter turnout as accreditation and voting progressed.
