Nigerian social media personality Abike Raheem, popularly known as Papaya Ex, has accused a police officer of assaulting her during a late-night encounter in the Ajah area of Lagos State.

The influencer made the allegation during an emotional TikTok live session on Friday, claiming the incident occurred while she was returning home from a movie shoot. According to her, what began as a calm interaction with the officer reportedly escalated into a confrontation.
Papaya Ex alleged that the officer struck her in the face with a gun, assaulted her driver and forcefully seized her mobile phone during the incident. She also claimed she was touched inappropriately and left bleeding inside her car. Although the moment was not captured on video, she said poor network connectivity prevented her from recording the encounter. She later displayed a visible mark on her face, which she attributed to the alleged assault.
Videos circulating online show a heated exchange between her and a man believed to be a police officer, though the events leading up to the confrontation remain unclear. She further alleged that harassment by some officers is a recurring issue for residents in the Ajah area.

As of the time of filing this report, the Lagos State Police Command has not issued an official response to the claims.
