Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang has stated he remains a committed member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and firmly upholds the party’s values and trust placed in him by the people of the state.

Mutfwang stated this while reacting to a social media post circulating a designed electronic flex banner featuring his image, suggesting his defection to the APC.

The governor in a statement issued by the director of press and public affairs Mr. Gyang Bere said the banner was mounted in Edo State for a purpose yet to be unraveled.

According to the statement, this orchestrated falsehood crafted by certain individuals and executed by mischief-makers is aimed at creating division between the governor and the leadership of the PDP as well as his supporters.

“While this baseless rumour does not warrant a formal response, it has become necessary to dispel any misconceptions that may mislead the public and to preserve the Governor’s integrity,” the statement said.
Mutfwang pointed out that the notion that he contemplated leaving the PDP for the APC is entirely false, stressing that he had never discussed switching political parties with anyone.
