Protests have continued to trail the judgment of the Court of Appeal which nullified the election of Plateau state Governor, Caleb Mutfwang and other national Assembly members from Plateau who were elected on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Leading the protest in Jos alongside other support groups including non-indigenes, the youth leader of the PDP in Plateau North, John Mark said the people of Plateau state rejected the Appeal court judgment in its entirety.
He noted that the judgement is against reason, against the facts and evidence presented in court and against the relevant Electoral Laws, Guidelines and Regulations as well as the precedents of decided cases on the same matters raised by the All Progressives Congress (APC) and their candidates in the matter.
He made it clear that the people of Plateau state genuinely gave their mandate to the PDP candidates to ensure massive development of the state and insisted that any plot to change the wishes of the people against the overwhelming mandate given to those they want will not stand.
Also speaking, Director of Field Operations of Atiku Abubakar Volunteer Groups Management Team, Pamshak Emmanuel Dabet urged the judiciary to always stand by the truth no matter the pressure from any quarters.
He expressed confidence that the court, as the last hope of the common man, will restore the mandate which the people freely gave to the PDP candidates in the interest of justice.
