The Night of Tributes for Toluwanisings was held on Tuesday night, as the wife of Toluwanisings broke down in tears while delivering her tributes.

A video clip from the event held at Jogor Centre, Ibadan, showed the widow, Akanbi Elizabeth, becoming emotional while paying tribute to her husband at the memorial.

“Toluwanisings, my dear husband. I will forever miss you. Please do not forget your children and me,” she said.

Several gospel artistes attended the event, including Esther Igbekele, Laolu Gbenjo, Akintayo Akinwande, SB Live, Bidemi Olaoba, Mr Gbera, Peterson Okopi, and Sarah Apekeola, as some of the artistes took turns to sing songs of praise to the glory of God and to honour their colleagues. Actress Bimbo Oshin was also among the celebrities present.

Toluwanisings died in the early hours of October 14, 2026, after reportedly slumping in Ibadan.

His death also sparked controversy over his burial arrangements, with disagreements reported between his family and his wife over where he should be laid to rest.

His father, Muniru Adekunle Olayemi, reportedly wanted his son buried in the house he built or beside his late mother in Osun State.

It is not yet ascertained whether the parties have mended fences, and the burial will go ahead this week as initially planned.
