The Bauchi Police Command, Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, on Thursday, while parading the three suspects before the press, said the circumstances leading to the death of the two-year-old-baby are yet to be ascertained.
He said, “The commissioner of police has not constituted a team of homicide and frantic investigators to exhume the body of the dead baby so that more investigations would be carried out through postmortem examination”.

Wakil added, following the investigation and examination, we would know the causes of her death, even though initially it was reported as a rape case, but by the testimonies of deceased parents, there may be many hidden facts”.

SP Ahmed Wakil explained that so far, three suspects have been arrested, the father and mother of the infant deceased, and the senior brother of the infant’s mother, and the third was, “a medical practitioner has clarified himself why he gives a First-Aid, but we still investigating to know the level of his involvement”.
