The Commissioner of Police, Nwonyi Emeka, who disclosed this while speaking on a live radio programme, monitored in Port Harcourt, the state capital on Tuesday, said some of the suspects were not students of the university.

Nwonyi stated that three pistols were recovered from the suspected armed robbers, adding that investigation was still on to arrest other members of the gang.

Meanwhile, victims of the alleged N6.5million extortion by officers of the Nigeria Police Force have narrated their ordeal in the hands of the four policemen, who are currently under detention on the orders of the Commissioner of Police, Nwonyi Emeka.

One of the victims, Promise Patrick, who spoke behalf of two others, told journalists that the policemen took them from Ikiri Junction, Omoku, headquarters of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni local government area of the state.

Nwonyi had on Monday paraded the four policemen, who are from a neighbouring State Command, before journalists at the Police headquarters in Port Harcourt.
