Police Arrest Nephew, Native Doctor For Alleged Kidnap Of Man In Benue

The Benue State Police Command has arrested one Teryima Yaji for allegedly organising the kidnap of his uncle, Emmanuel Yaji of Mbaduku Clan in Vandeikya local government area of the state.

Yaji was arrested alongside a native doctor, Terna Sule, who allegedly prepared kidnappers with charm to fortify them for the operation.

Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Catherine Anene who disclosed this, explained that a case of kidnap involving the victim was reported on December 30, 2024.

Anene said investigation led to the rescue of the victim, while police operatives arrested Teryima and Terna Sule in connection with the incident while firearms were also recovered in the process.

The PPRO added that the Commissioner of Police, Benue State Command, CP Steve Yabanet has ordered a detailed investigation into the case.

She revealed that some of the gang members have been arrested, including Teryima, a relative of the victim and the mastermind of the kidnapping who confessed to have planned the abduction to make more money from his relative.
