The Kwara State Police Command has arrested one Samson Ayodele, an alleged notorious electricity transformer installations vandal.
‎
Ayodele was arrested on November 3, 2025 by policemen attached to Eruku Division in Ekiti local government area of the state.

Spokesperson of the state police Command, Toun Ejire-Adeyemi, confirmed the arrest of the suspect in a statement on Thursday.

Ejire- Adeyemi said Ayodele was caught in the act while vandalising the transformer supplying electricity to Koro town in Ekiti local government area of the state.
‎
The Kwara Police spokesperson listed items recovered from the suspect to include three copper wire bars, one fuse, two connection wire bars, two wooden covers, two aluminium wires, several bolts and nuts, a bag of tools and one digital scale.
‎
“During interrogation, the suspect confessed to the crime, admitting that he had previously been arrested, charged, and imprisoned in Kogi State for similar offences but returned to the same illegal act upon release,” Ejire- Adeyemi said.

Ejire- Adeyemi said the Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Adekimi Ojo, commended the vigilance of the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) staff, and the prompt response of the Eruku Division police officers.

He assured the public that the Command will not relent in protecting critical infrastructure.
