The Lagos State Police Command has apprehended an unnamed member of a robbery gang using Paintball marker (Spyder Victor) to scare their victims before robbing them.
The prime suspect was said to have managed to escape by jumping into the Lagos Lagoon.
The Police said it’s currently searching for the suspect whether dead or alive.
The suspect’s accomplice, in whose possession the paintball marker was discovered, was apprehended and brought to the attention of the police at the Police Command headquarters in Ikeja.
While parading the suspected robber alongside other suspects, the apprehended robbery gang member disclosed that the prime suspect had abandoned the paintball marker and escaped by jumping into the Lagos lagoon.
Initial reports said that the weapon retrieved from the robbery suspect was a “gas gun,” a type never seen in Nigeria.
However, checks by LEADERSHIP have proved otherwise, revealing that the purported “gas gun” was, in fact, a Paintball Marker commonly used in the recreational sport of paintball.
A Police investigator, committed to uncovering the truth behind this unusual case, has asserted that the Police will spare no effort to unravel the circumstances surrounding the use of a paintball marker in criminal activities.
