Ahead of the November 8, 2025 governorship election in Anambra State, the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has commenced aerial surveillance of the state to ensure adequate security and peaceful conduct of the poll.

The Police announced this in a post shared on its official Facebook page on Friday afternoon, accompanied by a video showing a helicopter surveying various parts of the state.

The caption read “Aerial surveillance of Anambra State by the Nigeria Police Airwing ahead of the November 8, 2025 gubernatorial election.”

According to the Police, the aerial operation was part of broader security measures being deployed to maintain law and order before, during, and after the election.

The move came as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) finalised preparations for the highly anticipated governorship poll scheduled for Saturday, November 8, 2025.

The Police assured residents of their safety and urged voters to turn out peacefully to exercise their civic rights without fear or intimidation even as experts have predicted low turnout for the election.
