His release followed a comprehensive search operation that spanned multiple states, including Ogun, Ondo, and Edo.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Adewale Osifeso, said in a statement that Akika regained his freedom late Wednesday evening, September 11, 2024, and is currently receiving medical attention before reuniting with his family.

Osifeso emphasised the ongoing efforts to apprehend the criminal network responsible for the kidnap, urging residents to provide timely and credible information to assist in the investigation.
