At least seven security agencies which included the Nigeria Police Machine, the Nigeria Customs Service football team, as well as that of the new debutant, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) will feature in this year’s edition of ValueJet/SWAN Security Cup competition organized by the Ogun state chapter of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN).

Organized to foster unity among personnel of all the security agencies in the state, the annual SWAN Security Cup will also feature football teams from the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), as well as that of the Ogun State Fire Service in the competition principally sponsored by ValueJet Airline, one of the leading airline companies in the Nigeria’s aviation industry.

Speaking at the draws ceremony held at the MKO Abiola International Stadium in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, SWAN State Chairman, Michael-Azeez Ogunsiji said the competition was put together to strengthen unity and friendship among the security outfits.

While appreciating ValueJet Airline as title sponsor of the fourth edition of the annual football competition, Ogunsiji appealed to corporate organizations and other philanthropists to emulate the airline company by giving more support to make the tournament bigger.

The Head of Marketing, ValueJet Nigeria, Uchechi Achomadu, who announced a cash prize of N1 million for the overall winner, said the airline firm as a leading brand in Nigeria’s aviation industry with regular flights to five states and Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja was proud to be the official sponsor of the competition.
