The police has intensified security checks in schools through strategic assessments and strengthened stakeholder collaboration aimed at enhancing schools and public safety.
The command in compliance with the directive of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, had interactive sessions with the critical stakeholders and schools representatives to draw a security ring across key government assets, schools and police facilities.
The CP along with the command’s School Protection Squad (SPS) Coordinator embarked on a comprehensive assessment tour within the state after the fruitful engagements. They reviewed the existing security arrangements and underscored the need for continuously improving the scorecard by implementing safety and well-being of all persons utilizing these public institutions.
He affirmed the assiduous working relationship with the state government officials and sister security agencies to enhance security measures across these critical infrastructures, as government announces temporary conversion of boarding schools into day schooling activities.
Building on this mission, the Commissioner of Police Morris Dankwambo visited some schools and police facilities and formations in and around Girei local government area of Adamawa State. He assessed and improved the security architecture on ground, and encouraged the personnel deployed to maintain the standard operational procedure (SOP) and professionalism.
Consolidating these efforts, the police boss directed all tactical teams, divisional police officers and their supervisory area commanders to cover all areas and conduct regular supervisory visits. These proactive measure is aimed at sustaining vigilance, strengthening coordination, and ensuring the early detection of emerging security concerns.
