The Bauchi State Police Command has announced the massive deployment of operatives across the state and plans to collaborate with sister agencies, community leaders, and other stakeholders to ensure peace and security before, during and after the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Command’s spokesperson, SP Nafiu Abubakar, congratulated Muslim faithful and residents on the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr.
He stated that the commissioner of police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, has directed all Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), and Tactical Commanders to intensify patrols, adopt intelligence-led operations, and enhance visible policing to guarantee a peaceful and joyous Sallah celebration.
The Command added that special attention would be given to curbing crimes such as sara-suka violence, phone snatching, pickpocketing, and traffic-related offences.
The Command also urged parents and guardians to monitor their wards to prevent reckless behaviour.
It further called on members of the public to remain law-abiding, stay vigilant, and promptly report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station.
