Police Nab Suspect With 6 Motorcycles In Sokoto

The Sokoto State Command of the Nigerian Police has arrested one Kabiru Abubakar, who is accused of specialising in stealing motorcycles.

Spokesman of the Command, ASP Ahmad Rufai, in a statement on Wednesday said Abubakarwas arrested after he stole a motorcycle parked at the premises of the Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital, UDUTH.

“One Kabiru Abubakar, aged 25 has been arrested by the Sokoto State Police Command’s Strike Force for allegedly stealing a motorcycle from where it was parked at Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital Sokoto, UDUTH, on July 5, 2024.

“The motorcycle was recovered upon the arrest of the suspect, while the owner of the motorcycle was located and identified it as his,” Rufai said.

The police spokesperson added that the suspect who confessed to the crime also disclosed to have also stolen one motorcycle at Rahamat Clinic Sokoto belonging to one Naziru Muhammad on Kano Road.

“He mentioned one Kabiru Alhaji Yaro of Bello Way Area, Sokoto as his receiver and further investigations led to the recovery of six motorcycles,” the police image maker said.

The statement further said the arrested suspects would be arraigned in court after conclusion of investigation.
