Katsina State Commissioner of Police, CP Aliyu Abubakar Musa, has presented cheques of N42.3 million to families of deceased police officers who made the supreme sacrifice while on active service to the nation.
The CP who made the presentation on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, explained that the cheque was part of the IGP’s family welfare insurance scheme.
This is contained in a statement issued by the state police public relations officer (PPRO) and made available to journalists, stating that the event took place at the Command headquarters in Katsina, where cheques of different amounts to the families/next of kin of deceased police officers were given.
„The commissioner of police appreciates the efforts of the Inspector-General of Police in improving the welfare of the officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force and urges the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the money for their benefit.
„One of the benefiting families, Philip Paul, spoke on behalf of other beneficiaries, and thanked the Inspector-General of Police for the welfare package, and promised to use the money judiciously,“ the statement stated
