Twenty-seven years old John, who hails from Isielu local government area of Ebonyi State, attempted to end his life due for inability to refund the sum of N1.2million loan taken for his business.

According to a statement made available to newsmen on Saturday by the spokesman of the Anambra State Police Command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, John lives in Umunnachi area in Dunukofia local government area of Anambra State where he is operating a poultry business.

The police image-maker stated that John was owing someone who supplied him poultry products the sum of N1.2million, an amount he could not pay back, so he decided to terminate his own life by drinking poisonous chemicals.

Ikenga stated that the Command got to know about John’s evil intentions after he had drank the poison and it started troubling him, so he decided to change his mind from committing suicide.

The police spokesman added that John later sent a WhatsApp chat to the state police command informing them how he had endangered his life.
