Post Insurgency: FG Announces Plan To Rebuild Mubi-Bama Roads

The federal government has announced plans to rebuild

180 kilometers of Mubi-Bama highways as part of post-insurgency intervention to foster transportation between Borno and Adamawa states.

Minister of Education Tahir Mamman made the disclosure during the town hall meeting held in Yola yesterday, assuring that work would commence this week on the roads.

He observed that the project when completed would reduce the risk of accidents and foster easy transportation between the states.

According to him, funds have already been made available for the project.

“FEC would award contract for Mubi-Bama roads to make life easier for motorist and commuters from the two states,” he added.

The minister further stated that 4 million out of school children was enrolled back to school through various policies and programmes in the education sector and lauded the implemention of N70,000 minimum wage for workers and autonomy granted to local government by President Bola Tinubu.

Earlier the state chairman of Person Living with Disabilities (PLWDs) Abdullahi Toungo, appealed for the creation of desk officer in the state for his members to be carried along by government.

 

Toungo, solicited for more support to cushion the hardship his members are going through.
