Chief Eze Chimuka, Chairman of the Poverty Alleviation Trust Foundation, has announced that his organisation will collaborate with two serving members of the National Assembly to promote socio-economic development in Nigeria.
The federal lawmakers involved are Honourable Lekon Jafaru, representing Bogoro/Dass/Tafawa Balewa Federal Constituency in Bauchi State, and Honourable Adam Ahmed Saba, representing Adu/Moro/Patigi Federal Constituency.
Speaking after a meeting at the National Assembly Complex, Chimuka said the partnership will focus on key areas such as poverty alleviation, agriculture, and food security—initiatives designed to improve the lives of ordinary Nigerians.
He added that Chinese experts are currently in Abuja, engaging with the lawmakers on the implementation of the programme. Under the initiative, 774 Nigerians—one from each local government area—will receive free training in critical sectors that have traditionally posed challenges for the country.
The training will also target professionals including teachers, journalists, and lawyers. Honourable Jafaru and Honourable Saba, who oversee China–Nigeria relations, attended the meeting alongside a representative of the Speaker of the House of Representatives and other dignitaries.
